Bravo to the wonderful people at AniMeals for keeping in mind how important pets are.
Sometimes I see people offering, or buying, pets for $500 or more with all the fancy breeding and papers, and I don't think they get the point.
In 2001, friends were moving and couldn't take their rat terrier with them, so I adopted him. A few months later, another family was giving away their rat terrier. I wasn't sure if I was ready for another one so soon, but the second I saw him, I knew that rescuing him would be best for both of us.
Neither of these dogs had papers or always sat or fetched when they were supposed to, or would ever win Best in Show. But both of them have been funny, lovable, loyal companions and I wouldn't trade either of them for ANYTHING.
You don't have to pay a lot for your pet. ADOPT!
