State Judicial Nominating Commission has begun accepting applications for a vacancy on the Iowa Court of Appeals.
The position came open when Appeals Court Judge Edward Mansfield was named to the Iowa Supreme Court.
Applications to the commission must be filed by April 29. The 15-member panel will interview applicants May 9 and 10, then select nominees to forward to Gov. Terry Branstad.
The governor is required to pick the new justice from this slate. The appointment is not subject to legislative approval.
