Iowa sets season ticket prices, will play road ACC-Big Ten game
Apr. 15, 2010 4:37 pm
Iowa has set season ticket prices for the 2010-11 men's basketball season.
A public season ticket will cost $266, while Iowa faculty/staff will pay $228. A season ticket for UI students will cost $75.
Season-ticket costs are less than last year's because Carver-Hawkeye Arena will host 17 men's basketball games this year instead of 19. But the price average remains the same.
Iowa will play on the road in this year's ACC-Big Ten Challenge and will not host two rounds of the CBE Classic as it did this year. Iowa will play in the Paradise Jam Classic in the Virgin Islands this year.
Iowa unveiled its pricing structure four months earlier than last year. Iowa Associate Athletics Director Rick Klatt said the the announcement coincides with heavy interest in the men's basketball program.
"There is always a sense of renewal and a sense of opportunity," Klatt said. "We were able to confirm the schedule, which was important. We were able to confirm with the Big Ten Conference the likelihood of the ACC game being played off our campus, so there was confirmation on that. We know that we are going to play nine Big Ten games, so we were able to confirm the schedule. Do we have visions of thousands of tickets being sold? No, but it's a great opportunity for fans who do want to make that down payment to get on board."
