All guns are not the problem

Guns, of course, and rightly so, enjoy Constitutional protection. We need guns to protect our liberty, which is at best a murky concept based, I think, on the idea that we will need them to fight off a threat, like some sort of dictatorship. In the short run, guns are being used to kill us.
All guns are not the problem. Certain guns are really a problem, such as assault weapons designed for combat. We should unite in opposition to assault weapons. We cannot ban all guns, but at least let us get rid of this one.
