Police should focus on drinking and driving

I saw that local police and state troopers flexed their authority by enacting a dragnet on Interstate 80 on the unofficial day that people who imbibe in the use of marijuana celebrate. Now it appears they busted some kids with pot and paraphernalia and a handful of other nondescript offenses as well.
I would like to see these tactics used in the fight against drinking and driving. I think on most Friday afternoons and nights they should sit outside the busiest bar and conduct alcohol tests or maybe they should sit by an exclusive country club, flagging the old folks when they leave the 19th hole. Maybe they should sit outside some of these local wineries, too, and check who's legal to drive and who's not.
You'll more than likely never see a cop (not to mention a full-scale dragnet) outside a country club, resort or fancy restaurant because it's old money inside those places, and old money talks and votes.
Do we need to spend taxpayers money on stopping stoners on the road with minimal amounts of pot? There's not a test out there that can determine if you're high on pot, much less under the influence. Isn't it about time we quit catering to alcohol, a much more dangerous drug to users and families and the general public, than pot will ever be?
