Norway Elementary evacuated following gas leak

Students and staff at Norway Elementary were evacuated for about 90 minutes on Wednesday afternoon after workers struck a gas line, school officials said.
Superintendent Gary Zittergruen said contractors were digging on school grounds when they hit the gas line. The students were evacuated to a nearby church.
An Alliant Energy crew arrived on the scene shortly after the accident and confirmed conditions in the school were safe. No injuries or illnesses have been reported.
