Branstad, Reynolds moving Iowa forward

When Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds were running for office in 2010, they talked about plans to reduce Iowa's residential property taxes. After years of hard work, Branstad and Reynolds finally got a bill passed in the 2013 session.

Now, as property tax bills hit Iowans' mailboxes, I'm pleased to see Branstad and Reynolds' work pay off. Thanks to their determination to fully fund Iowa's Homestead Tax Credit, many Iowans are seeing their tax burden reduced.

Their tax reform package also reduced Iowa's income taxes by $90 million a year. That's money put right back in the pocket of Iowa's taxpayers. Branstad and Reynolds know that Iowans are better at spending their money than the state government is at spending our money.

It's refreshing to finally see politicians keep their word. In Washington, D.C., everyone is pointing fingers as they fail to get anything accomplished.

Here in Iowa, Branstad and Reynolds set their sights on moving Iowa forward and they're doing just that.
