Marion Bowl owner Eric Wink said three people stole and damaged about five thousand dollars in property at his business. Wink said he received a call from the Marion Police Department at about eight o'clock Saturday morning.
“They busted all four of the front doors here, glass, and ransacked our office. Made a real mess of the place and tore up the bar,” said Wink.
Wink said he caught the three men on a security camera. In the video Wink said the men leave and come back a total of three times. He is hopeful that the video will help lead police to the suspects.
“It made me sick, and made me mad. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or break something. It makes you really feel violated, we just bought the place August 2nd, and we were trying to get up and running,” said Wink, “This just knocks all the wind out of you.”
But surprisingly Wink said the loss and damage to his property wasn't the worst part.
“What hurt the most isn't necessarily the stuff they took from me or damaged. We have a Saturday morning kid program, and we had to cancel the kids league and that hurt the most,” said Wink.
The Marion YMCA also reported shattered windows, but volunteers there said nothing was stolen. The Marion Police Department has said little about either case.
