Erosion fences do not enhance landscape

Beautification of our city has been a priority. If so, how about removing the 2-foot erosion fences that can be found throughout the city? After a year, their only job is to collect garbage, grass, tall weeds, etc. They do nothing for the landscape or wildlife.
If they are not removed, they rot or present another hazard. Whoever installed them be should be responsible for their removal.
