E-book service is great program for E. Iowa

The Metro Libraries' downloadable e-book service (featured in the July 30 and in the Homers section of Aug. 2) is a great program for area residents. People can “check out” books 24/7 virtually anywhere they have Internet access.
In addition to the Metro Libraries and Iowa City/Coralville libraries, many other libraries in the area also offer this service. NEIBORS (Northeastern Iowa Bridge to Online Resource Sharing) is a consortium of 116 libraries in Eastern Iowa offering downloadable audio and e-books from OverDrive free of charge. North Liberty, Solon, Ely, Mount Vernon, Lisbon, Central City, Center Point, Atkins, Shellsburg, Vinton and Anamosa area a few of the libraries offering this service to their residents.
People interested in downloadable audios and e-books should check their local library for availability. All it takes to get started is your library card.
