Governor’s priorities should be remembered

Recently, Gov. Kim Reynolds called for an investigation into news that refugee children were transported to Iowa and placed with volunteer sponsor families. This after the governor famously said these children were “not our problem” and refused to give federal authorities permission to bring them here.
I wonder when we can expect Reynolds to call for a similar investigation into how Iowa became one of the worst states in the nation for COVID-19 cases per capita, leading to over six thousand deaths, while she played politics and resisted a statewide mask mandate until the hospitals filled and she had no choice.
Our governor appears to be more concerned about refugee children being helped against her will than she is about keeping her constituents safe. I hope we all remember where her priorities lie when election time comes around.
