Big Love? Not for the Iowa men's basketball team on Thursday night

I tried to watch Thursday night's Iowa-Northwestern game on ESPN. Northwestern certainly did its best to put on a show. But the Hawkeyes? There are no nice words for it.

Maybe next year. Maybe ... next ... year.

The only good thing from the Hawkeyes' point of view is that their next game is Sunday at home against what has to be the rottenest team in the Big Ten, the Indiana Hoosiers.

I saw just enough of the Wisconsin-Indiana game Thursday night on the Big Ten Network (it's my job) to know if Iowa doesn't beat the Hoosiers (again) on Sunday, the Hawkeyes' have been abducted by aliens and were replaced by the cast of  "Big Love."

Although, Nikki (bottom right) has a lot more fight in her than anything the Hawkeyes showed Thursday.
