A Pac-10 athletic director says Big Ten, Pac-10 have reached out to Texas, Texas A&M

The Hlog will feast on Big Ten expansion quotes/gossip/rumors from now until the league makes its move. You have been warned.
First, a nod to The Wiz of Odds for finding and linking the following item on Tuesday.
Percy Allen of the Seattle Times has this blog about the Washington Huskies men's basketball team. Way at the bottom of his Feb. 20 entry is this, the result of an interview Allen had with Washington Athletic Director Scott Woodward:
Woodward also talked about expansion and said the Pac-10 and the Big Ten have reached out to officials at Texas and Texas A&M. "I'd be surprised if our office is not in contact with them," he said. "I'm sure those conversations have happened and are taking place."
When asked if the league might expand beyond two teams, Woodward said that's a possibility. "It could be two, four or a merger of Big 12. ... There's a theory that at the end of the day there's only going to be four super conferences. Now what it's going to look like, God only knows."
Super conferences. Yes, that drumbeat that will grow louder and louder as the months pass.
The Pac-10 may not go all super-conference, but it surely wants to go to at least 12 members. Early scuttlebutt said Colorado and Utah. That's not really thinking big. Not when the largest state in the union (with BCS teams, anyway) is out there.
Two weeks ago, Pac-12 - er, Pac-10 - Commissioner Larry Scott said if his league was going to expand, the time is nigh.
"To me, the logic if the Pac-10 is going to think about expanding, now is our window," Scott said. "The reason being if you're going to consider a reconstruction of the conference, there's a value proposition associated with that. Given that we're about to have negotiations regarding our media rights, it makes sense that if you're going to do it, to do it when you can monetize it and get value from it commercially."
Now, how do you feel if you're Oklahoma, not to mention Oklahoma State and Texas Tech? Two of your Southwest partners are getting romanced by another league, supposedly. Who knows where that will go? What would you do if the Longhorns and Aggies jumped the Big 12's ship? You don't just refill the Big 12 to a dozen with the likes of TCU and UTEP.
Six syllables, my friends. Su-per-con-fer-en-ces.
