Flat-D adds vent deodorizer

Flat-D Innovations of Cedar Rapids has developed a product that removes odors blown into living spaces through heating and cooling ducts.

The Vent-D is a mesh pad made with activated charcoal and placed inside a home's floor or ceiling vents. It prevents odors from traveling in the ductwork from one level or room of a household to another.

"We have  had several suggestions over the past year to develop this type of products," said Brian Conant, president of Flat-D, in a statement released Friday, August 12. "We finally developed a material suitable to remove airborne odors in a person's living space."

Conant said the company has received excellent feedback on the effectiveness of the product in household testing.

Flat-D manufactures activated charcoal products used for odor control in over 40 countries.
