Join me and whomever else feels like jumping on for a live Iowa football chat today from noon to 1.
For the spring game, I'll be looking at everything. Seriously. I try to take stats during it just so everyone has a baseline for performance. I also track 1st and 2nd team lineups. Let me know if there's anything else you'd be interested in. I'll try.
This week on KGYM, coach Kirk Ferentz said they might run the clock for the developmental portion of the scrimmage. Don't expect to see any tackling. Iowa is down to freshman Brad Rogers and safety-convert Jason White at RB. That's it, I believe. Paki O'Meara suffered a sprained knee maybe a week ago, so he's out along with the trio of Robinson, Wegher and Hampton.
I'll also be curious if it's 1 v. 1 tomorrow, as it's been throughout camp.
I think the O-line is down to seven or maybe eight in real competition. There's Ferentz/Koeppel at center, which I think will come down to the stronger of the two (don't know who that is). There's Gettis/Hundertmark at right guard. Then I think that's it. The door is open for Woody Orne and Nolan MacMillan, but they'll have to make their marks in August. Orne does hold the hang clean record for O-lineman, by the way.
After Saturday's scrimmage, Scott and I will hold a chat beginning at 5 p.m. Mike Hlas might join that one, too. Sorry I'm a little fuzzy on the details.
Anyway, today noon to 1. Please join in and, as always, thanks for reading.
