The Federal Highway Administration awarded Innovative Software Engineering in Coralville a two-year project to pilot a system to safeguard truck-shipped wholesale and retail fuels.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory, a multi-program science and technology laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, with the U.S Department of Energy, is managing the project.
The pilot program will evaluate the effectiveness of a monitoring system to safeguard against tax evasion or theft of tanker-truck-borne wholesale and retail fuels before they reach their destinations. The overall goal is to develop a working production system that will help the highway administration evaluate the feasibility of this kind of system.
ISE will provide an end-to-end telematics application that will capture vehicle, GPS and trailer-sensor information, provide a mobile interface for driver use, transmit information wirelessly in real-time to a back-end system deployed on the cloud, and integrate this information with Oak Ridge National Laboratory to flag suspicious activity.
ISE is a leading full-service software development and systems integration firm providing business strategy, program management, systems engineering, software development and quality assurance services. It specializes in developing custom telematics solutions, enterprise mobility applications and custom software tailored to customers' unique needs.
