To the editor:
That Hillary Clinton. When first ladies stayed in the East Wing and managed the household, she dared (and I do mean dared) to be the intelligent dedicated woman she is. With lofty goals (health care, decent living conditions and more) she used a down-to-earth approach to plow new furrows.
Republicans blanket-bombed her with lies and vicious ads. Her husband got derailed for a time. But, like Eleanor Roosevelt, she remained steadfast. She got elected in her own right as a senator from the state of New York. Then she became the Secretary of State where she used this international pulpit to speak for women's rights and for the children of the world.
As with everything she has done, she did her homework, paid her dues and worked hard. To those in diapers or not yet born when she was lifting the barriers and creating a trail for you to follow, please know that she has never wavered in her zeal to find justice for those who have so long done without it. Be part of the tomorrow's promise of a future of sharing and growing together.
Caucus for Hillary Clinton on Monday.
