Deadline Tuesday for charter commission

CEDAR RAPIDS - Applications are available for the Charter Review Commission that will begin meeting later this month to review the city's charter.
The nine members of the City Council each will nominate a member to the commission, which can recommend changes to the city's charter. The council can amend the charter or submit the recommendations to the voters.
Applications are available on the city's website, www.cedar-rapids.org/government/boardsandcommissions/pages/howtoapply.aspx, or at City Hall, 3851 River Ridge Dr. NE. Applications must be returned to the City Manager's Office by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
