Wishing the best to the Vernon Inn
The Gazette Opinion Staff
May. 26, 2012 11:03 am
Over the past 34 years, our family has spent many an evening enjoying the food and atmosphere of the Vernon Inn for birthdays, anniversaries and whenever we just needed a gyro fix. We were lucky enough to be among those who got to say goodbye in person last Saturday night with a bottle of Retsina and one last order of Saganaki.
To Basil, his family and staff we say “Opa!” which, according to the Urban Dictionary, means: “ a word of celebration ... another way of expressing joy and gratitude to God, Life and others ... that all that really matters is health, family and friends.” We will miss “The Greek Place” and wish you all the best.
