One complaint isn’t justification

Even after years of seeing media coverage for this type of “news,” it was with much dismay that I read the front page article in the March 11 edition about someone complaining about an image on a 17-year-old fire truck (“Complaint over psalm, image on fire truck”).

One person out of a city of 130,000 complains about a picture on a fire truck that has been in place since 1997 and the fire department feels they are required to take immediate action. It is an image, it will not cause harm and should not offend unless you are looking for a reason to be offended (and make a bunch of noise about it).

When will the majority of the population who truly believes in live and let live grow tired of the constant tirades that some of these people have about perceived harms and slights and in turn voice their opinions rather than letting their rights be trampled on?

It probably wouldn't do us any good. We don't have time for parades and demonstrations and filing trivial complaints. God bless you all.
