The Walk Through -- Purdue
Marc Morehouse
Nov. 19, 2011 8:31 am
-- RB Jordan Canzeri injured a hamstring and didn't make the trip.
Keep an eye on RB. Sophomore Marcus Coker was sore after the Michigan State game. I was told he did everything in practice at least on Tuesday. So, we'll see.
-- You know that feeling you have about QB James Vandenberg on the road?
This from an e-mailer:
"He has 3 TDs to 2 INTs in road games. YIKES.
Is it notable that his YPA decline by quarter?
From 9.2 (Excellent) in the 1st to 6.8 (very so-so to sub-par) in the 4th?
I'm not sure. There are multiple factors at work. Iowa could be winding down with a lead or playing from behind and in desperation mode.
What does alarm me is he's been sacked the most in the 3rd Q.
That's not good.
Obviously, he's been challenged on the road to a significant degree. I was stunned at the TD 'absence' given his rather big numbers."
I think Iowa's road struggles (0-for-5 in last five regular seasons) are more than that, but Vandenberg is 0-4 on the road.
-- Ticket City and Pizza Bowls are here today.
-- The internet says the wind is 12 mph out of the southwest. I'm going to call it 20 mph.
-- Boilers have a special teams coordinator, one of the few teams in the country with one. The results show.
-- And we're going to the team portion very quickly.
-- CJF (concussion) and Keenan (ankle) are out there and participating.
-- Austin Blythe is a No. 2 guard today. A couple frosh DLs made the rip, McMinn and Cooper.
-- Team: Same, everything the same. Mika'il McCall, Steve Staggs and KMM are the No. 2 skill positions and took reps with the ones.
OK, it's 30 minutes to kick.

It's windy here. I'd say 20 mph.
