Questions from a concerned resident

Questions:
1. Why does Cedar Rapids think that building a medical mall is going to be an attraction? Only this city would think of making money off people that come here for medical reasons.
2. Why does the proposed 20-year extension of the 1 percent local-option sales tax for flood protection include repairing streets? Don't we already pay a tax for street repair?
3. Why can't the tax go for just flood protection (for 10 years)?
4. Why didn't the library stay where it was at? TrueNorth doesn't seem to have any problems turning it into a nice-looking office building.
5. Did the city (taxpayers) really have to buy a hotel?
6. Why did Linn County supervisors vote to spend almost $100,000 (taxpayers money) for art at the new community service building on the south side? Residents should be furious.
7. If the traffic cameras aren't for making money then why is the city making money on them?
