Expressing opinions and free speech

The Gazette writes that they would like to hear from people in letters to the editor. So nice of them.
But one has to feel sorry for the anonymous person who sends four to five pages of a printout from an article in Newsmax magazine online to prove his idea is right and that I am a crazy party voter. One who brags he is a serviceman and an independent voter.
If his opinion had any weight to it, he would have the courage to at least sign his name.
So one doesn't even bother to read it, but tears it in half and throws it in the recycle box. I did.
The whole point is to write one's opinion, not to please everyone else. My free speech is just as important as some other person with a different idea.
That does not mean I am wrong and he is right.
I wonder how many others get these “hate letters” from someone who is a coward? And accuses others of being party voters. I have voted for both parties many times, I voted for Ike.
The only thing I learned from him (anonymous writer) was he is a coward. I hope this does not stop others from writing letters.
I like to read them and sometimes I can even learn something. But not from these kind.
