Another Jeff Jones joins Kernels

Jul. 7, 2009 2:20 pm
The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced Tuesday that outfielder Chris Fox has been released by the parent Los Angeles Angels and replaced on the active roster by outfielder Jeff Jones.
Fox hit .250 in nine games and 20 at-bats for the Kernels. Jones was signed by the Angels recently as a non-drafted free agent out of William & Mary.
Here's a story on Jones from the William & Mary college newspaper. Apparently he's fast.
And does anyone else remember the last Jeff Jones that played in Cedar Rapids? He holds the franchise record with 42 home runs in 1982.
