Catlett, Lois
Lois Catlett, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello.

She is survived by two sons, David and Daniel, both of Hopkinton; two daughters, Shirley (Dan) Naughton of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Stephanie (Bob) Geers of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Patrick Naughton, Megan Naughton and husband Jason Krajc, Jennifer Bash and husband James, Jacob Geers and wife Erica and Laura Geers; and six great-grandchildren, Nicholas Naughton, Charlie and Lilah Krajc, Holden and Riley Bash and baby Geers due any time.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe on Aug. 22, 1999; and her brother, Leslie Freeze.
Lois Freeze was born July 13, 1926, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of James Burton and Doris Ohe Freeze. Lois received her early education in the rural schools near her home. She graduated from the Hopkinton High School and Lenox College. Lois married Joe T. Catlett on Sept. 23, 1944, in Anamosa, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Sand Springs/Hopkinton area.
