Wilson, Mazie
Mazie Wilson, 95, surrounded by her family, passed away June 8, 2012. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Buck Creek Methodist Church, Buck Creek, with Pastor Lorraine Hartman officiating. Interment will follow at the Buck Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello.
Mazie is survived by her children, Jeanette (Jack) Larson and Gary (Linda) Wilson of Marion; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Wilson of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan; a son, Maynard; two sisters, Opal Harnish and Eva Wendt; and two brothers, Clarence Bacon and Loren Bacon.
Mazie Irene Bacon was born Jan. 29, 1917, in Delaware County, Iowa, the daughter of Milton and Lillian Barker Bacon. Mazie loved cooking, gardening and working hard on the family farm. She always said, “I'm just a farm girl.” The thing she treasured most was spending time with her family and friends.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
