Cyclones rally past Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Iowa State did just about everything right in second half of a 66-57 women's basketball win Wednesday night at Kansas State.
Chelsea Poppens led the Cyclones (11-7, 2-5 Big 12) with 23 points and nine rebounds. Nikki Moody and Lauren Mansfield added 15 points each.
The Cyclones held Kansas State's leading scorer Brittany Chambers (15.9 ppg going into game) to six points.
Kansas State led 36-27 at halftime, but Iowa State outscored Kansas State 14-8 over the first nine minutes of the second half. When Moody hit a 3-pointer with 10:37 to go, the game was tied at 44-44.
Iowa State then moved inside to Poppens who scored three straight baskets for a 50-46 lead. Mansfield followed with two 3-pointers for a 56-48 with 5:18 to go. Kansas State didn't get closer than five points the rest of the game.
