Leach’s wife works to ensure art funding

E. Michael Myers' excellent June 29 cover story on Jim Leach's campaign for civility in American society contains one error of fact. His wife, Elisabeth “Deba” Leach, does not work for the National Endowment for the Humanities (where her husband is chairman). She is Arts Education Counselor to the Senior Deputy Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, where she plays a very important role in assuring that funding for the arts and art education is more widely accessible to communities across the United States.
The work she does helps bring critical NEA funding to many smaller and more rural communities.
