Here's how to spot somebody who is somebody in pro golf. They can jet several states out of their way to get in a practice round at the site of a major tournament, then wing their way home.
Sunday, Zach Johnson finished his play at the Memorial Tournament near Columbus, Ohio. Monday, he played a practice round at Bethpage Black on Long Island in New York, where next week's U.S. Open will be held.
We know this because Newsday was basically stalking -- er, covering - Tiger Woods as he played a practice round at Bethpage Black himself. Johnson teed off shortly before Woods, as this Newsday story attests.
Look, I didn't say this was big news.
The last time Tiger played Bethpage Black (He won the '02 U.S. Open)
