Kernels streak to unlucky(?) 13

In my best John Rodgers hyperbolic tone: "They may not lose a game the rest of the season."
Yep, the Cedar Rapids Kernels continue to rack up victories. They ran their winning streak to 13 with an 8-0 whitewashing of Wisconsin on Thursday night in Appleton, Wis.
Cedar Rapids is 9-0 on a 10-game road trip to Fort Wayne, Dayton and Wisconsin that ends with a game Friday night at Wisconsin. Then it's home for four games against Burlington, beginning Saturday night.
On a bad note, longtime Kernels clubhouse manager Ron "Roady" Plein apparently broke his ankle Thursday while chasing a foul ball. The 65-year-old Plein had surgery on the ankle at a local hospital.
