Campaign ads lack the Golden Rule

Bullying has finally been addressed and the effect on our youth in the schools. But we have been steadily bombarded by the media with negative campaign ads and have been for several months. What is this telling our young people? They are supposed to be nice to others, but it's OK for politicians not to be nice?
I learned at an early age that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
Wouldn't it be great if the millions of dollars spent on campaign ads could instead be used helping the poor, unfortunate and victims of disasters, disease, war and violence?
Remember the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
