Cedar Rapids Convention Complex groundbreaking ceremony

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Cedar Rapids Convention Complex, near the corner of 1st Ave NE and 3rd St NE, will be held Aug. 30 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The ceremony will feature the Cedar Rapids Police Department Honor Guard, the Jefferson High School Band of Blue and a special presentation by U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development John Fernandez.
Attendees are encouraged to park in the downtown parking ramps or use metered street parking.
