Voter information is often outdated

In response to Jerry R. Johnson's letter (“Paul's relentless contacts turn off voter,” Jan. 16), it should be noted that political mail information comes from voter registration lists. This information constantly changes due to people moving, dying, etc. This becomes evident if you'd ever volunteered to call registered voters on behalf of a certain candidate. I found this out several times when I volunteered to call registered voters on behalf of a candidate and was amazed at the percentage of expired information.
But these voter lists are the only information available for the campaigns to go by. It's realized that a large percentage of the information is faulty, but volunteers must try to reach those with current information.
As for the writer's attempt to contact Ron Paul's campaign to make information corrections, please keep in mind that these campaigns are very busy and made up of volunteers. Tons of mail arrive and the main objective is to process letters containing campaign contributions, not correct faulty information. It's assumed this will correct itself in future updated voter registration lists.
I can only feel sorry for someone who hates the U.S. Constitution so much that he would use this lame excuse to vote against Paul, the only candidate in the running who consistently honors his oath to the Constitution. He should be singing his praises!
