Downhill spiral started with Democrats
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 3, 2010 12:56 am
It is extremely distressing to read all the remarks from the “Bush Wackers.” My question: Don't you think it would be wise to get your facts right before you start bashing him?
The downhill spiral for this country did not start because of George Bush; it started Jan. 3, 2007, when the Democrats took over Congress. At that time, the Dow Jones closed at 12,321,77; the GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5 percent; the unemployment rate was 4.6 percent. Bush's economic policies set a record of 52 straight months of job creation.
Thank you Democrats for the unemployment crisis we are now experiencing, for dumping
$6 trillion of toxic loans on the economy from the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco. Bush asked Congress 17 times to stop Fannie and Freddie, starting in 2001, because it was risky for our economy. So whose fault is it?
