City needs Gulick's fiscal skills

It is imperative for the Cedar Rapids City Council to have a council member who is fiscally responsible and financially knowledgeable. We must have someone who will address the difficult budget issues with a clear and measured approach. District 1 council member Kris Gulick is this person. He pushed to have a long-term financial plan developed and this plan has been critical in light of the flood to know what financial challenges lay ahead. Part of this plan includes investigating more cost-effective, efficient ways to run the city.
Because Kris has daily business and financial experience as a certified public accountant, he understands the financial realities for the city government. Our city's future challenges will call upon him to use these skills even more.
