Riders give up 3 early, lose to Green Bay, 5-2

Chris Crane had a pair of goals in a three-goal first period that catapulted the Green Bay Gamblers to a 5-2 win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Tuesday night in Wisconsin.
Reed Seckel also scored, as Green Bay ran to a 3-0 lead. Crane had two goals on the season going into the game.
The Riders dropped to 12-11-2, 26 points with the loss. They play this weekend at Team USA (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Indiana to round out the pre-Christmas portion of their USHL schedule.
Sam Warning had a short-handed goal in the second period for Cedar Rapids. Robert Francis had a pair of third-period markers for the Gamblers, sandwiching a power-play goal from Michael Parks for the Riders.
Troy Grosenick took the loss in net. The Riders also have announced that forward
Eric Robinson has committed to play college hockey next year at Dartmouth. Robinson has eight goals in 24 games this season, his second with Cedar Rapids. He is a Foxboro, Mass., resident.
