Murder trial reset for Cedar Rapids teens

The first-degree murder trials of two teens and a 20-year-old accused of killing Kevin Bell at his Cedar Rapids home in January were reset Friday to Jan. 10 in Linn County District Court.
Denem Null and Gabriel Taylor, both 17, and Johven Lee, 20, are accused of breaking into Bell's apartment at 113 First Ave. SW on Jan. 11. Bell, 26, was shot in the head by one of the intruders during what police called a botched robbery attempt. Bell died the next morning at an Iowa City hospital.
According to the criminal complaint, Null is accused of firing the shot that killed Bell.
A pre-trial hearing is set 10:30 a.m. Dec. 23.
