Kernels return home Tuesday night

KANE COUNTY COUGARS (13-25) @ CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS (20-17)

Yesterday the Kernels were swept in a doubleheader at Burlington. Our losing streak is now at seven games, dating back to last Monday.

The good news is that Kane County comes to town tomorrow night. The Kernels are 6-0 against Kane County this season.

Also, the Kernels will send the three top starters to the mound in the series.

Game 1 will feature Daniel Tillman (3-1, 3.38). For Game 2 the Kernels go with Brian Diemer (4-2, 2.76). In Game 3 Max Russell (3-2, 2.60) will take the ball.

Tuesday and Wednesday's ballgames begin at 6:35 p.m. Thursday is a 12:05 p.m. start at Perfect Game Field.

Today is an off day for the Kernels. Hopefully, the much needed day off will rejuvenate the team for the series with the Cougars.

It's a short home stand (only three games) before we begin a commuter series at Quad Cities on Friday.
