Anamosa man pleads guilty in child porn case

An Anamosa man who videotaped himself sexually abusing an 8-year-old and possessed pornographic images of a 13-year-old has pleaded guilty to producing and possessing child pornography.
Christopher T. Heggebo entered the guilty plea Thursday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids.
In the plea, Heggebo admitted that in January he engaged in sexually explicit conduct with the 8-year-old, and recorded the activity. He also admitted he possessed explicit images of a 13-year-old girl on a mobile telephone.
Heggebo faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 40 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
U.S. District Judge Linda R. Reade will set a sentencing date after a presentence report is prepared.
