Mercy Hospital Foundation presents cancer education forum

On Saturday, August 18, from 9 to -11:00 a.m. ,the Mercy Hospital Foundation will present “What's Next? Life After a Cancer Diagnosis” as part of its “Hear from the Doctors” annual community cancer education series. The program will be in the McAuley rooms of Mercy Medical Plaza located at 540 E. Jefferson Street in Iowa City.
This is a free community seminar on living with a cancer diagnosis that includes information on: coping, resources, therapies, spirituality, diet and medications. We know that exercise, nutrition, education and support all help in the fight against cancer and its treatment effects. Presenters include: Gabriella Cherascu, MD, psychiatry; Hamed Tewfik, MD, radiation oncology; Donna Valiga, Social Work; Mary Johnston, Pastoral Care; Bill Ostola, Occupational Therapy; Tara Gjerstad, Speech Therapy; Katie Bossen, Physical Therapy; Sheila Wright, Dietary; and Randy McDonough, Towncrest Pharmacy.
The panel of presenters will also be available to respond to questions.
