Felder, Blanche E.
Blanche E. Felder, 89, of Oelwein, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters in Oelwein. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein. Prayer Service: 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Blanche Elizabeth Andregg was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Lansing, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin Charles and Mayme Sophia (Cassutt) Andregg. She graduated from Guttenberg High School in May 1941. Blanche was united in marriage to Raymond John Felder on Feb. 22, 1944, at Old St. Mary's Church in Chicago. She was a homemaker and had worked at Oelwein Tour & Travel in the 1960s. Blanche was a long time Oelwein resident; she also lived in Fort Dodge, Guttenberg, Chicago, San Francisco and Lansing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church & Rosary Society.
Blanche is survived by her son, Larry Felder of Oelwein; two granddaughters, Lena Rose Felder of Tempe, Ariz., and Jennifer Felder of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Sara Felder of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and a sister, Rosella Andregg of Wilmington, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond on Jan. 28, 1996; son, Ray F. Felder on Jan. 10, 2006; two brothers, Edwin Andregg Jr. and Otto Andregg; and two sisters, Violet Andregg and Rachel Rader.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
