Dutton, James Allen
James Allen Dutton, 66, of Norway, Iowa, went to be with his Lord and savior Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life service, with Masonic rites and military honors, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sister Peg Murphy will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment: 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Williamsburg, Mo., Cemetery.
Surviving to honor his memory are his brother, William Dean Dutton and wife Kay of Mexico, Mo.; a niece, Angela Kroell of Webster Grove, Mo.; two nephews, Jack Dutton of Columbia, Mo., and Chad Dutton of Jefferson City, Mo.; two great-nephews, Cullen Dutton and Jordan Kroell; his goddaughter, Kara Frame, her daughter, Savannah, and son, Sawyer, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and his special friend, Helen Davis of Cedar Rapids.
James was born Jan. 16, 1944, in Callaway County, Mo., to James W. and Edna Bush Dutton. He was a Marine Corps veteran. He was employed by Quaker Oats for 37 years as an electrician. He was past master of St. Clair Masonic Lodge No. 164 in Norway, Iowa. He touched the lives of many with his playing and singing country music, and also had a passion for playing golf.
He will be greatly missed by his many, many, many friends.
Military honors by Norway American Legion Post 234.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
