Applaud Brucemore for hosting events

In defense of the wonderful venues at Brucemore, I take issue with Lindsey Lambert's June 18 letter, 'Brucemore perfect venue for Bluesmore.”
She wrote that Bluesmore is not going to be held at Brucemore in the future because of Brucemore's 'elitist” attitude. (Elitist, meaning 'snobby.”) Also, that Brucemore is 'breaking the spirits of thousands of fans.” (Give me a break!)
Some gratitude, I must say, for Brucemore having allowed Bluesmore to be presented on their grounds for the past 20 years, often with difficult issues to contend with in so doing.
Brucemore has established itself as a true center for highly varied entertainment in Cedar Rapids, including everything from hot air balloon glows, arts and crafts shows, outdoor theater, to Orchestra Iowa concerts. There is something every year for everybody.
It would seem obvious that the Blues aficionados should be cheering Brucemore with 20 years worth of thank yous, not ugly sour grapes.
At Brucemore, there is always something great for everyone, not just for 'snobby” people.
Come and join the crowds attracted by all of Brucemore's terrific programming, their capable staff and wonderful volunteers, who all work so hard year-round for our combined pleasures.
