Iowa City man faces variety of drug charges after home search

A 22-year-old Iowa City man has been arrested for a controlled substance violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and keeping a drug house after police searched his home in early March.
According to police reports, Philip G. Ballew, of 525 Iowa Ave. #1, was found to have packaging materials, scales, a small quantity of marijuana, several large jars with marijuana residue, a large amount of money in small bills and a ledger at his residence.
The findings indicate Ballew had recently sold a large quantity of marijuana, Iowa City police said.
Ballew was being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $16,000 cash bond on Tuesday.
