Police caught three men stealing jewelry and checks from a flooded Time Check home Thursday, and found enough marijuana to charge them with possession with intent to deliver.
Neighbors called police about a suspicious vehicle in the 1500 block of Sixth Street NW a little after noon. Officers found the three men on a porch in the 1400 block of Ellis Boulevard NW, and when a neighbor told police the house was vacant, officers questioned the men, police said.
They found jewelry, checks, and a total of 2.78 ounces of marijuana on the men. The address on the checks was 1416 Sixth St. NW, and when police drove to the house, they saw it had been burglarized.
Kevin L. Austin, 24, of 1432 15th St. SE, Alexander M. King, 22, of 1300 Oakland Rd. NE, and Sean J. Williams, 20, of 509 14th St. SE, were arrested and taken to the Linn County Jail.
They have been charged with third-degree burglary, possession with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
