We have allowed political class to thrive

Wendell Carr (“Exercise your control over the government,” Dec. 14) hit the nail on the head. I offer these thoughts. We have four classes of people in the USA, including upper class, middle class and lower class. These were created by a nation founded by freedom, a republic and capitalistic society. People can move from one class to another by education, desire and hard work. We have done a good job helping people to strive for the next higher class. Our society encourages individualism.
The fourth class is made up of our federal Congress, the executive branch and in some cases the judicial branch. This class was not created by our Founding Fathers, but has emerged to seek power, prestige and control. We now have career politicians, with huge personal benefits (pension, health and personal financial gains). As a nation we have allowed the monster to exist.
On Nov. 6, 2012, power swings back to the people. Let's take action and vote for freedom.
