IOWA CITY - Supporters are asked to join the effort to bring the Blue Zones to Iowa City by attending a rally on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
The Blue Zones project is part of Iowa's healthiest state initiative to make Iowans live longer and healthier lives.
Members of a site selection committee will visit Iowa City and supporters are asked to welcome the group with signs and by wearing blue.
The welcome takes place from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Nov. 13 at the Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St. The site visit will last until 12:30 p.m.
Iowa City is one of 12 Iowa cities that are vying for the last six spots as a Blue Zones demonstration site, which would bring expert help to the community.
