Rhys Brown, 31, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at his home on Friday, May 28, 2021. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at the Cedar
Memorial Chapel of Memories, with a memorial service immediately

Rhys Jacob Brown was born April 14, 1990, in Cedar Rapids Iowa. He attended Mount Vernon Schools and Linn-Mar High School, where he graduated in 2007. Rhys' hobbies include mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding and playing with his dog, Jazz. He enjoyed water activities. He loved skateboarding and was involved in boxing. Rhys was very vigilant and knowledgeable in learning about health and wellness. He loved going to the gym or just taking a long bike ride in the woods. Rhys attended Antioch Church in Marion. Rhys loved working with his hands, he was a natural born carpenter. Rhys was a very clever and intelligent young man, there wasn't a whole lot Rhys could not do. He enjoyed the companionship of his friends and family.
Rhys is survived by his mother, Darcy Brown; father, Robert Willenborg; grandmother, Donna (Don) Hines; his brothers, Lucas Carroll and Nash Brown; a niece, Kaydence Brown; and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Larry Dean Brown; and his great-grandparents, Frank and Melva Brown and Jacob and Mildred Hartman.
