Ludvigson, Florence 'Flo' J.
Florence “Flo” J. Ludvigson, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Aug. 26, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Merrill; children, Don Ludvigson of Burnsville, Minn., Greg Ludvigson and wife Laurie Comstock of Baldwin City, Kan., and Janis Harrison and husband Robert of Cedar Rapids; and grandchildren, Nick Ludvigson and wife Heather, Allie Ludvigson, Jenny Harrison and fiance Brandon Caswell, Melanie Harrison and Nicole Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth; and brother, Henry.
Flo was born March 25, 1922, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Henry E. and Mary I. (Robertson) Johnson. She graduated from Minneapolis Business College and was employed as a secretary at the University of Minnesota. She was a member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church beginning in 1949. She was also a member of Four Square Club, a bridge club, and Sons of Norway. She enjoyed square dancing, playing piano, cooking and was well known for her potato salad. She also enjoyed traveling with Merrill which took them to every state but Alaska, and to the countries of Norway, Scotland, England, Sweden, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Greece, and throughout the Caribbean. She was a great supporter of her grandchildren and their many activities.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the memorial fund established in Flo's honor.
