Kernels rally past West Michigan, 4-2

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. - The Cedar Rapids Kernels scored three times in the seventh inning and ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the West Michigan Whitecaps on Monday night.
Cedar Rapids' rally came with two out and no one base. Brett Doe was hit by a pitch and went to second on a T.J. White single.
Blake Schmit then doubled to bring home both Doe and White for a 3-2 Kernels lead. Brian Navarreto's ensuing single scored Schmit.
Starting pitcher Jared Wilson immproved to 5-1 with the win. He threw six innings and gave up three hits and two runs.
Michael Theofanopoulos and Trevor Hildenberger finished up in relief, with Hildenberger getting his sixth save.
The Kernels (36-22) have Tuesday off, then begin a nine-game homestand Wednesday night at 6:35 against Great Lakes.
